Synthesis of [dibenzyl(heteroaromaticcarboxylato)tin(IV)] oxides and crystal structure of [dibenzyl (2-furanylcarboxylato)tin(IV)] oxide |
Ten [dibenzyl(heteroaromaticcarboxylato)tin(IV)] oxides have been synthesized by the reaction of heteroaromatic carboxylic acids with the dibenzyltin oxide and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and NMR spectra. The compounds have been tested against two human tumor cell lines: MCF-7 and WiDr. The results show that some compounds have higher activities in vitro. The molecular structure of [dibenzyl(2-furanylcarboxylato)tin(IV)] oxide 1 is determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction.

Synthesis of some new 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives and
their biological |
In an attempt to prepare compounds incorporating both the coumarin and oxadiazole moieties, three of them having oxadiazole unit directly attached to 3 position of the coumarin, and two having oxadiazole system attached at 7 position through an ether linkage to 4- methyl umbelliferone have been synthesized. All these compounds show good antiinflammatory and analgesic activity. The highest activity is observed in compound carrying p-chlorophenyl substituent. These compounds have been tested for their antimicrobial activity also. |

Optimization of protocols for solid-phase synthesis on a flexible crosslinked support: Synthesis of [Leu5]enkephalin |
An optimized protocol for the solid-phase synthesis of peptides on high capacity 1,4–butanediol dimethacrylate-crosslinked polystyrene (BDDMA-PS) resin is illustrated by synthesizing [Leu5]enkephalin and hydrophobic tripeptides in both free and protected form using t-butyloxycarbonyl (Boc) / benzyl (Bzl) chemistry. |

1-Aryloxyacetyl-4-(3-methylbenzoyl)thiosemicarbazides 3a-h are synthesized under phase transfer catalysis. Compounds 3a-h on cyclization with mercuric acetate in glacial acetic acid furnish 2-(3-methylbenzoylamino)-5-aryloxymethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles 4a-h. The preliminary activities of 4 on promoting wheat growth are tested.
