The crystal and molecular structures of compounds 1 and 2 are determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction.

2,4,5-Trichlorophenyl-(9H-fluoren-9ylmethoxy ­car ­bonyl­amino)methylcarbamates: Synthesis, isola­tion, characterization and utility in the synthesis of dipeptidyl ureas

An efficient synthesis of 2,4,5-trichlorophenyl- (9H-fluoren-9-ylmethoxycarbonylamino)methylcarbamates employing isocyanates derived from several Fmoc-amino acids and 2,4,5-trichlorophenol has been described. All the carbamates made have been obtained as crystalline solids and are fully characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectrometry. Their utility for the synthesis of Fmoc-dipeptidyl urea esters and urea acids has also been described.

One new triterpenoid, cornulacic acid acetate 1 along with known oleanolic acid acetate 2 has been isolated from the flowers of Calendula officinalis Linn. The structure of 1 has been established as 3b-acetoxy-olean-12-en-27-oic acids on the basis of spectral data analysis and chemical reactions.
