Synthesis and pharmacological studies of some phthalimidoxy substituted spiro-thiazolidinone derivatives of isatin

Some 3'-{4-(1-acetyl-5-(4-substituted phenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-yl)phenyl}-1-N-ethoxyphthalimido-4'H-spiro[indole-3,2'-[1,3]­thiazolidene]-2,4'-1H-diones 6a-e have been synthesized from 3-[4-{1-acetyl-5-(4-substitutedphenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-yl}phe­nyl­imino]indole-2-one 4a-e. Synthesized compounds have been characterized by analytical and spectral studies.

A new versatile strategy for design and synthesis of reduced risk fungicides: Bibenzyl core incorporated with modified as-indacene

A novel montmorillonite K 10 clay catalyzed Michael addition followed by dehydrative cyclization in one-pot is designed to synthesize 4,4'-bis(4",8"-aryl-1",4"-dihydro-bisthia­zolo­[3,2-a;5'",4'"-e]pyrimidine-2"-thion-1"-yl)biben­zyls 6a-j with excellent yield under microwave irradiation in solvent-free conditions. Antifungal screening results on Fusarium oxysporum and Penicillium citrinum show that most of the synthesized compounds display promising antifungal activity.

Synthesis and characterization of fused and spiro heterocycles by ultrasonic methods

Treatment of 1,4-diazacyclohexan-2,5-dione 1 with bromine in carbontetrachloride yielded 1,4-diaza-3-bromo-2,5-dioxo­cyclo­hexane 2 and 1,4-diaza-3,3-dibromocyclohexane-2,5-dione 7. The reaction of 2 with carbamides/thiocarbamides produced 6-oxo-oxazolo[4,5-b] piperazine 5 /2-substituted imino-6-oxo-thiazolo[4,5-b] piperazine 6. Compound 7 on combination with carbamides/ thiocarbamides was transformed to 1-oxo-2-substituted imino-3,5,8-triaza-3H,5H,8H,7-dihydro-6,9-dioxo-spiro [3.5] nonane 9 and 1-thia-2-substituted imino-3,5,8-triaza-3H,5H,8H-7dihydro-6,9-dioxo-spiro [3.5] nonane 9.

Isolation and characterisation of novel esters from aerial parts of Tiliacora acuminata

New coumarin diol from the plant, Chloroxylon swietenia DC

A new coumarin diol has been isolated from the chloroform fraction of the leaves of the plant, Chloroxylon swietenia DC. A copper sulphate catalysed synthesis of derivatives of tetra substituted pyridine

Copper sulphate has been found to be an effective catalyst in water-ethanol solvent system for the synthesis of various tetra-substituted pyridine derivatives via Michael addition of b-dicarbonyl compounds to a,b-unsaturated oximes and subsequent ring closure.
