Dr Ranjana Aggarwal, Director, CSIR-National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies (CSIR-NISTADS), New Delhi, has been assigned the additional charge of the post of Director, CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (CSIR-NISCAIR), New Delhi. Shri Narendra Modi was sworn-in as India’s Prime Minister on 30th May 2019, marking the start of his second term in office. The first ever Prime Minister to be born after Independence, Shri Modi has previously served as the Prime Minister of India from 2014 to 2019. He also has the distinction of being the longest serving Chief Minister of Gujarat with his term spanning from October 2001 to May 2014. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forest and Climate Change has a long and distinguished record of public service, leaving his indelible mark in all fields of activity undertaken. Structural and computational biologist and Director of the Punebased National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Dr. Shekhar C. Mande has been appointed as the Director-General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Secretary of the Department of Scientific and Research (DSIR). One of India’s leading experts in DNA fingerprinting and diagnostics, Dr. Mande assumed the charge on 16 October 2018. As Director of the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Dr. Shekhar Mande oversaw the launch of the Indian Human Microbiome Initiative in the Northeast.
