Synthesis and reactions of new N-bridged heterocycles derived from 3-substituted- 4,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazoles

The synthesis of 3-aryloxymethyl-4,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazoles 1 and their condensations with benzil, phenyl pyruvic acid, ethyl acetoacetate and carbon  disulphide to yield various triazolotriazines 3, triazolo-triazinones 4, triazolotriazepinones 5 and triazolotriazoles 8 are reported. Also the rearrangement of triazolotriazapinones 5 to pyrazolotriazoles 6,7 has been carried out.

Synthesis and evaluation of antiinflammatory and analgesic activity of some new 1,3-diphenyl-2-aryltetrahydroimidazoles


Several new 1,3-diphenyl-2-aryltetrahydroimidazoles have been synthesized from various aryl aldehydes and 1,2-dianilinoethane. The two monochloro derivatives show antiinflammatory and analgesic activity comparable to indomethacin and aspirin respectively.

Newer potential quinazolinones as hypo­ten­sive agents

A series of 3-(substitutedarylidene)hydrazinoacetylamino-2-methyl-6-bromo-quinazolin-4(3H)-ones 4a-e has been synthesized from 3-amino-2-methyl-6-bromoquinazolin-4(3H)-one 1. These on condensation with ClCOCH2Cl give azetidinones 5a-e, which undergo mannich reaction to yield mannich bases 6a-e. Some of the compounds show potential hypotensive activity.
